camLine will host its U.S. Forum 2025 on October 10, 2025, at Intel’s Chandler campus in Arizona; a one-day event dedicated to exploring how semiconductor manufacturers are addressing today’s most critical operational challenges.

Fabs worldwide face growing demands for higher output, tighter process control, and reduced environmental impact. Achieving these goals requires more than equipment upgrades; it calls for a coordinated, data driven approach across manufacturing execution and material control systems.

Under the theme “Define a Future with Digital Continuity: Power Up Smart Manufacturing,” the forum will examine how Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), Material Control Systems (MCS), and Digital Twin technologies are being deployed to optimize material flow, cut inefficiencies, and support sustainable growth in live production environments.

The program will feature a keynote from Daniel C. Rodriguez, Intel Vice President and General Manager of the Edge Computing Group, alongside sessions that share real factory use cases, technical insights, and live demonstrations. A central element is the voice of customers, with manufacturers presenting measurable results and lessons learned from implementing these systems in production environments.

Improved materials are required for progress in fields including printed electronics, semiconductors, aerospace & defense, energy, and life sciences/medical care.  Developing such materials and chemicals involves considerations of performance, cost, manufacturability, safety, and stability.  Scaling production of new materials is a very different challenge than making 50 grams in a laboratory.  Transitioning/commercializing new materials is a separate effort where intellectual property, regulation, quality control, system documentation, supply chain development, and business relationships become key.  This talk will address these aspects of introducing a new material into our enterprise.

ABOUT THE SPEAKER:

Larry Takiff, PhD

Larry Takiff is co-Founder and President of Akita Innovations LLC, a small business in Massachusetts that develops and produces novel chemicals and materials for government and commercial customers.  He founded Akita in 2012 with Lawrence Hancock after working at Polaroid Corporation, Aprilis Inc., and Nomadics/ICx/FLIR Systems.  He is a chemist by training and a businessman by necessity.  At Akita, he has initiated and led projects in materials R&D and pilot production for a variety of government agencies/DoD components and for commercial partners.  Currently he is leading an effort to scale production of a decontamination fluid for the Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA), and a FlexTech project to advance the TRL/MRL of a dielectric ink for printed electronics, as well as several Phase II SBIR development projects.

Advanced Metrology Workshop

Thursday, November 6, 2025 | 1:00pm-5:30pm

Advanced metrology (on wafer and off wafer) is a critical enabler for advanced semiconductor manufacturing. As the industry advances toward 2030 defect analysis will continue to be further challenged by the shift towards 3D Advanced Logic and DRAM devices. Huge Gaps Exist Across the Entire Eco-System. They include:

  • More advanced Analytical Metrology for detecting and measuring impurities and defects.

  • The need for suppliers to access the infrastructure and capabilities for developing and performing “Cost Effective and Proactive” defect detection and characterization that can be employed at the fab level.

  • Approaches that enable Faster Innovation à Cost Effective R&D Turn around for HVM. Can AI be leveraged to accelerate measurement science?

  • Measurements in all media employed in semi manufacturing: In liquid, on wafer and Gas/AMC - holistic wafer environment quality control (ETE)

Enabling next generation HVM solutions to address key challenges around wafer inspection, defect detection and identifying other metrology gaps will be critical for the industry to continue its progression. Collaboration between key industry stakeholders including: Semiconductor producers, OEMS, Metrology suppliers, Academia-NIST-NASA-NSTC, that more rapidly drives R&D and Technology Readiness can be a key determinant of future success. The goal of the workshop will be to identify key industry challenges around these gaps and develop a call for action on how to collaborate on closing these gaps.
