BRUSSELS — April 16, 2026 — The European Chips Diversity Alliance (ECDA), a European Union-funded initiative coordinated by SEMI Europe, today launched its second inclusion survey to better understand the factors influencing talent retention and career development across the semiconductor sector.
Building on insights from its first report, the new survey focuses on identifying what keeps technical professionals engaged in the industry, with particular attention to long-term career progression, workplace experience, and inclusive practices across Europe’s semiconductor ecosystem.
“The ability to attract and retain skilled technical talent is critical to strengthening Europe’s leadership in semiconductors and to building a resilient and competitive ecosystem," said Laith Altimime, President of SEMI Europe. "Developing a collective understanding of what drives long-term engagement and inclusion in the workplace is essential for the future of the industry."
As demand for skilled talent continues to grow, retention remains a critical challenge for the industry. ECDA’s latest survey aims to generate insights that support industry leaders and policymakers in developing more inclusive and sustainable workforce strategies.
“Creating inclusive environments is essential to retaining talent and supporting long-term growth across the semiconductor sector,” said Nessa Maguire, CEO of EudaOrg. “Gaining deeper insight into what professionals need to succeed will help guide more effective approaches to workforce development.”
The survey is open to individuals currently working in technical roles within the semiconductor sector, as well as those with relevant experience. It is fully anonymous and takes approximately 10–15 minutes to complete.
By participating, respondents will contribute valuable insights that will inform ECDA’s upcoming report and help improve workplace practices, strengthen inclusion efforts, and foster environments where diverse talent can succeed.
The survey will remain open until May 8, 2026.
Stakeholders, organisations, and networks across Europe are encouraged to support the initiative by sharing the survey within their communities. Broad participation is essential to ensure the findings reflect a wide range of perspectives from across the semiconductor value chain.
