About SEMI University

SEMI University is not your typical brick and mortar university. The university offers on-line courses, virtual training courses and on-site training offerings to cater to different learning styles. 

SEMI University provides best-in-class, semiconductor-focused technical, business and professional training for members and non-members. We are partnering with established content providers to deliver knowledge and expertise and continue to evaluate partner opportunities to enrich SEMI University curriculums.

SEMI University delivers training online through Absorb, its new Learning Management System (LMS).

The availability of the semi.org login service to users in China is likely affected by the changes the Chinese government makes to the Great Fire Wall of China (GFW), in addition to the quality of internet service/local proxy.

We do not support running the application in multiple browsers or windows. Doing this may result in unexpected application behavior. Changing your browser cookies can cause issues with execution of running the Learning Management System program.

Click the Forgot password link and follow the instructions to receive an email to reset your password.

Go to the course catalog at https://store-us.semi.org/elearning to view all courses. To enroll click on the ADD TO CART button. You must check the box for acknowledging the SEMI University Terms and Conditions and fill in your name and email address before checking out.

Two notifications will be received when you enroll in a course.

  • One will be sent to your registered email address on your profile.
  • The other will be located under Messages in your profile.
  • To find a transcript go to the upper right-hand corner of your screen and click on the hamburger menu.
  • Next click on Profile
  • Click on the Messages tab
  • Then select system Messages

Click on the SEMI University Logo in the upper left-hand corner.
 

Click on the My Courses icon to find courses you are enrolled in.
 

Click on the My Courses icon to find the course you want to resume and click on the Resume button.
 

Click on the X in the upper right-hand corner to exit out of the course. Then click the button
 

  • To find a transcript go to the upper right-hand corner of your screen and click on the hamburger menu.
  • Then scroll down to the word Transcript. There you will have the ability to print your transcript.

You can access your completed courses by going to upper right-hand corner of your screen and clicking on the hamburger menu. Then navigate to your Transcript to find your completed courses.
 

You will need to repurchase the course to gain entry back into the course. Course enrollments are valid for one year.

Yes, you can directly work with the SEMI to see what part of an already established training can be tailored. Although we cannot create entirely new trainings unique for your company only, you have the option to adjust certain aspects of a training. This option applies to SEMI U’s live, instructor-led courses (virtual or in-person), but not for on-demand courses.   

Yes, we’d love to work with you in the way! In the past, our training partners hosted courses on a monthly or quarterly basis for larger companies who onboarded new employees often. We’re willing to work with you and your company’s unique needs to find a cadence that works best.  

Pricing for each instructor-led training varies based on course topic, instructor fees, and the number of employees who participate. On-site training tends to cost more to cover instructor travel and hotel costs. Overall, the larger the group, the lower the cost per employee. 

With that being said, hosting an on-site training at your company’s location will be lower in cost compared to if you were to send your employees to an already hosted in-person training somewhere else in the country (you won’t have to pay costs for hotel and travel to these trainings). We will work with you and the training partner to find a price that works for everyone involved.

To host an on-site training, there’s a minimum of eight employees. For virtual trainings, a minimum of five. 

For on-demand learning, there is no minimum required. However, we do offer discounted rates for companies who want to enroll 10+ employees in an on-demand class.

Our instructors typically have 20-50+ years of industry experience. For some of our on-demand eLearning, professors from universities also teach.  

On-site and virtual trainings are live and instructor-led. On-site training typically cultivates a deeper sense of a learning community and more learner engagement. Employees can more actively ask more questions throughout, but because there are travel costs involved, this option typically costs more. Virtual learning is often perceived as less engaging but is lower in price. It’s up to you and your company’s preferences and we’re happy to collaborate on a learning format that aligns with your employee culture. 

Meanwhile, on-demand learning is self-paced. These courses are accessible anywhere in the world with internet access. Most courses include virtual interactives such as knowledge checks.

Per request, we can provide a status report for employees who successfully completed training on our LMS. 

For live, instructor-led trainings (virtual or on-site), we track attendance and can provide a list, per request.
