Coming in the wake of the COP27, the Smart and Green Manufacturing Summit at SEMICON Europa 2022 (Munich, 15-17 November) had a timely focus on the semiconductor industry’s contribution to meeting the United Nations’ target of limiting global warming to 1.5°C above pre-industrial levels.

The SEMI Talent Forum, 2-3 May, 2019 in Bristol, UK will explore new opportunities and challenges of the digital era and the industry’s need for talent and the knowledge and skills in automation, computerization and digitization to drive tech innovation.

In 2018, SEMI shared a statement reflecting the common view of key industry associations with the European Commission and Oeko-Institut & Fraunhofer IZM contributing to a study that supports the review of the list of restricted substances and assesses a new exemption request under RoHS 2 (Pack 15).

Since its inception in 2002, the RoHS Directive has become a global reference point for regulation of hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment (EEE). This has been effective and given the EU a competitive advantage.
