Dr. Dutton is being honored for his numerous and significant contributions to the EDA industry in the area of computer simulation of integrated circuit (IC) technology.

Dr. Dutton has made significant contributions to the EDA industry in the area of computer simulation of integrated circuit (IC) technology. Called the “father of TCAD,” his pioneering work in both IC fabrication process modeling and electrical behavior modeling of devices and circuits have been broadly adopted by the industry and used widely in the support of technology development.

The ESD Alliance (formerly EDAC) and the IEEE Council on EDA (CEDA) held the 14th annual Phil Kaufman Award ceremony and dinner at the Santa Clara Marriott on November 2, 2006.
