SEMICON Taiwan 2026 Global Pavilion Expands to a Record 18 Countries
Global Representatives Unite, Signaling Deeper Multilateral Semiconductor Collaboration
【July 22, 2026 – Hsinchu】SEMICON Taiwan 2026 will feature a record 18 countries across its Global Pavilion. Today, SEMI hosted the first-ever SEMICON Taiwan 2026 Global Pavilion Press Conference, led by Terry Tsao, Global Chief Marketing Officer and President of Taiwan, SEMI. The event brought together Cynthia Kiang, Deputy Minister of Economic Affairs, and 17 representatives, including the United States (U.S.), Japan, the European Union (EU), and the United Kingdom (UK). Their first joint appearance ahead of the exhibition underscored the increasingly global and collaborative nature of the semiconductor industry.
Since the Global Pavilion program launched, participation has grown to 18 countries, while the number of booths has surged more than 250%, from 62 to 220, both record highs. Long-standing partners continue to expand their presence, while new participants broaden the program’s global reach. Germany and the Netherlands return for five consecutive edition, the longest-running participation of any country. Japan leads this year with 51 booths across regional pavilions including Fukuoka, Miyagi and Ibaraki. Catalonia, Spain; Chihuahua, Mexico; and Finland will make their debuts, extending the program’s reach across Europe and North America. The full 18-country lineup will be unveiled at the exhibition in September, which is expected to attract industry professionals from more than 65 countries.

AI Investment Accelerates the Need for Multilateral Collaboration
AI is fueling a new semiconductor investment cycle. SEMI forecasts global semiconductor manufacturing equipment sales to rise 23.2% year over year to US$165.9 billion in 2026 and reach US$229.5 billion by 2028. Regional supply chain expansion and government incentives are expected to sustain equipment spending growth through 2027 and 2028.
The expanding Global Pavilion will showcase distinct regional strengths. Australia will focus on critical minerals, advanced materials and resilient supply chains; Korea will present equipment, materials, automation, inspection and sensing; and Japan’s Fukuoka, Miyagi and Ibaraki Pavilions on manufacturing, talent and investment-ready clusters. Malaysia and Singapore will highlight precision manufacturing and automation. In Europe, Catalonia will feature its R&D and talent ecosystem, Italy will spotlight advanced manufacturing and industrial innovation, and the UK will showcase energy-efficient technologies including photonics and in-memory computing. Chihuahua, Mexico, will highlight North American nearshoring and growing Taiwanese investment. Together, the pavilions will drive cross-border technology exchange and business collaboration.
Building Global Collaboration for the Industry’s Next Phase

U.S., Japan, EU, and UK Representatives Chart Path for Deeper Collaboration
At the first-ever Global Pavilion Press Conference, Taiwan-based representatives of the United States, Japan, the EU and the UK shared updates on cooperation with Taiwan’s semiconductor ecosystem, highlights of their SEMICON Taiwan 2026 pavilions, and priorities for deeper bilateral industry ties, offering first-hand industry insights and perspectives.
Raymond Greene, Director of the American Institute in Taiwan (AIT), said, “As AI advances, the U.S.–Taiwan semiconductor partnership is becoming even more vital, expanding from manufacturing into investment, cybersecurity, talent, and innovation. Jointly organized by AIT and ASOA, this year’s U.S. Pavilion brings together 11 states and two U.S. companies to showcase American capabilities and deepen two-way cooperation. Through initiatives such as the Freedom 250 Workforce First Summit, the United States and Taiwan are working together, not competing, to build a more secure, resilient, and competitive semiconductor ecosystem.”
Gen Kawai, Deputy Representative of the Japan-Taiwan Exchange Association, said, “Japan and Taiwan have built a strong semiconductor partnership on decades of complementary strengths. Japan’s leadership in equipment and materials, together with Taiwan’s expertise in wafer fabrication and advanced packaging, creates a solid foundation for deeper collaboration. As global supply chains evolve, Japan’s participation in SEMICON Taiwan marks another step in strengthening this long-standing partnership.”
Lutz Güllner, Head of the European Economic and Trade Office, said: “Cooperation between the EU and Taiwan is being strengthened in a systematic manner. The European Union attaches great importance to the development of the semiconductor industry. From the first European Chips Act to the proposed Chips Act 2.0 introduced this year, the EU continues to strengthen Europe’s semiconductor ecosystem through policy, investment, and industrial cooperation, fully demonstrating its long-term commitment to advancing the development of the semiconductor industry.
The EU-Taiwan partnership has already gone far beyond the level of a single investment, extending from semiconductor manufacturing to broader industrial cooperation. During the exhibition, the EU will also host the 2026 EU Investment Forum, further promoting industrial exchanges and investment cooperation between the EU and Taiwan. As Taiwan’s largest source of foreign direct investment, the EU looks forward to using important platforms such as SEMICON Taiwan to deepen practical cooperation in semiconductors and innovative technologies, and to jointly build a more competitive and resilient industrial ecosystem.”
