SEMI ESDA Update
Bob is Executive Director of the Electronic System Design (ESD) Alliance a SEMI Technology Community. He began his career as an analog design engineer at Hewlett-Packard and has spent more than 35 years in various roles in executive management, marketing, and business development primarily working with startup and early stage companies including Synopsys, LogicVision and Magma Design Automation.
He maintains his own technology consulting business and is the co-owner of Jazz Cellars, a boutique California winery that he co-founded in 2005.
Bob received his BSEE from the University of California, Davis and his MSEE from Stanford University.
The State of EDA
Mr. Vleeschhouwer, senior software research analyst with Griffin Securities in New York, has over 40 years of research analyst experience in the technology sector, including software, computer hardware and imaging technology; he was formerly a senior analyst at Merrill Lynch, Josephthal Lyon & Ross, Bear Stearns, and Cantor Fitzgerald. His work has been recognized on numerous occasions in the annual Institutional Investor and Greenwich Associates rankings of analysts. He was ranked by Refinitiv Starmine Analyst Awards (U.S.) #1 in the "top stock pickers" category for software (2020). He has been invited to present at numerous industry and company conferences and events, including the Design Automation Conference (DAC), for his perspectives on software, plus media appearances (Bloomberg, CNBC, Fox Business). Mr. Vleeschhouwer received his B.A degree, in Economics and Political Science, from the University of California, Los Angeles, and his M.B.A. degree from the University of California, Berkeley.
Abstract
The State of EDA: We will examine the financial performance and structure of the EDA industry from 2010 through today, as well as the important technical trends and requirements that have affected EDA business performance and strategies. In addition, we will examine the progression of semiconductor R&D spending over the past decade and its relationship to EDA. Lastly, we will examine how the market value of the publicly-held EDA companies has evolved and provide our EDA industry projections for 2021 and beyond
