Connect@SEMI Communities for all SEMI Standards Task Forces
By Michelle Sun and Kevin Nguyen, SEMI
As previously published in the February 2024 article, starting in February 20, 2025, the SEMI Regulations and Procedure Manual (PM) will require all Standards Task Forces to use Connect@SEMI to host documents that are currently in development. Each Standards Task Force will have its own Community Page on Connect@SEMI.
The purpose of this shift is multi-pronged. First, this would allow Connect@SEMI to become a central repository for all Task Force related materials, including draft documents and meeting minutes. It would also increase the security of the documents, ensuring that everyone who accesses the documents is a SEMI Standards member. The TF leader will be expected to upload the working draft documents in Adobe Acrobat PDF format and distribute the Draft Document at least one week before the ballot submission deadline. (For more details, please refer to PM § 6.4.5, Operation of TFs.)
Simultaneously, traditional methods of sharing draft document(s) via email, SharePoint, Google document will no longer be allowed. As of today, there are over 100 Standards Task Forces that have Connect@SEMI community sites. All members are encouraged to start logging in and joining the task forces they are interested in.
All program members may log in at:
- Enter their username and password (same as program membership log-in)
- Click ‘Join Community’ to join the Task Force
Training materials are available at:
- Under Standards Developer Resources ® Collaboration Tools (scroll to the bottom)

If you have any feedback or suggestions on using the Connect@SEMI site, you may post your comment at the Feedback Community, where SEMI staff will review and address your suggestions.
