Revisions to SEMI Regulations and Procedure Manual

The International Standards Committee, the governing body of the SEMI International Standards Program, recently approved revisions to the Regulations Governing SEMI Standards Program. Corresponding changes to the Procedure Manual have also been approved.

Notable changes include:

  • Regulations
    • New § 4.2.2 Standards Document definition.
    • Identified portion for table and figure regarding Line-Item Revision to an existing Standard(Note 17).
    • Emphasis of confidential information shall not be presented or discussed in Standards Meetings (§ 1.5.7).
    • TC Chapter authorizes revision or cancellation of SNARF(s) (§ 5.7.7.1).
  • Procedure Manual
    • SNARF Cancellation (§ 2.2.8)
    • The Use of Connect@SEMI for TF Management and as a Document Development Depository (§§ 6.4.3-6.4.5)
    • TC Chapter Meeting Quorum (Note 44)
    • TC Chapter Committee Express Report (CER): two week requirement
    • Deletion of the entire Appendix 4, Nonconforming Titles

The updated versions (February 2024) of the Regulations and Procedure Manual will be effective as of the North America Standards Spring Meetings 2024.
