SEMI Standards Leaders Honored at SEMICON Japan 2025

Each year at SEMICON Japan, SEMI Japan recognizes the outstanding contributions of its Standards Program Members. The awards were presented during the SEMI Standards Friendship Party & Awards Ceremony at SEMICON Japan 2025. On this occasion, four individuals were awarded the SEMI Japan Awards. Two individuals received the SEMI Japan International Collaboration Award, and one individual each received the SEMI Japan Honor Award and the SEMI Japan Special Award.
SEMI Japan International Collaboration Award
SEMI Japan is pleased to present the International Collaboration Award to Hirokazu Tsunobuchi (GENETEC Corporation) and Haruna Hayashi (Tokyo Electron Limited) in appreciation of their significant contributions as they demonstrated outstanding leadership in developing the new SEMI T27 Standard, Specification for Traceability Identification Label of Component Parts, through strong international collaboration. This achievement lays the foundation for future standards, greatly contributing to quality improvement and supply chain transparency across the industry.

SEMI Japan Honor Award
SEMI Japan is pleased to present the Honor Award to Tetsuya Nakai (SUMCO Corporation) in appreciation of his dedicated contributions and outstanding accomplishments. He has devoted more than 15 years to serving as Co-chair of the Technical Committee, as well as leading multiple Task Forces. Throughout this time, he actively addressed a variety of challenges, played a key role in publishing numerous standards, and greatly increased Japan’s influence in the field.

SEMI Japan Special Award
SEMI Japan was honored to present Masanori Yoshise the Special Award in recognition of his leadership in global collaboration and commitment to standardization.
As Co-leader of the International Advanced Wafer Geometry (AWG) Task Force for many years, he has played a key role in sharing Japan's remarkable expertise with the international community and has greatly contributed to developing and updating standards.
Technical Committee Award
In addition to the aforementioned awards, the Technical Committee Awards were presented to individuals who have made outstanding contributions to the Japan Regional Technical Committee. This year, following a revision of the Award regulations expanding the scope of eligibility, 19 contributors from 10 Technical Committees have been honored with this award.
