RITdb Workshops Now Available on SEMI University
By Michelle Sun, SEMI
With the introduction of SEMI University, an online platform featuring a comprehensive selection of over 360 on-demand courses covering front-end and back-end manufacturing operations, principles of chip design, and more, we are pleased to announce that the two workshops for Rich Interactive Test Database (RITdb) are now available for streaming. These workshops were originally recorded during SEMICON West 2022 and in January 2023. Led by subject-matter experts Stacy Ajouri and Mark Roos, this two-part workshop is tailored for supervisors, engineers, and technicians who are interested in improving the productivity of their semiconductor test operations.
Introduction to RITdb (SEMI E183) Implementation on a Test Floor
Industry 4.0 brings machine-to-machine IoT, human augmentation, cloud, edge, and AI together to enable a better manufacturing process. However, to fully leverage these advancements, we require an efficient means to share the very complex and wide-ranging data which is created and used on the test floor.
The data, which often comes from multiple sources, introduces latency and security issues from constantly changing sources and applications. RITdb solves these sharing issues via extensible machine focused data structures and transport formats, which have been validated in an advanced test environment.
Course Content
- Introduction to the challenges and benefits
- A walkthrough on how Roos Instruments and Texas Instruments implemented the proof of concept (POC) in a working production environment
- Technical deep dive into the implementation effort needed to get started
Introduction to Implementing a Test Cell RITdb Client
This workshop builds upon Introduction to RITdb (SEMI E183) Implementation on a Test Floor and focuses on how RITdb integrates into a production final test environment, with a detailed examination of the implementation process for the RITdb Tester Client.
Course Content
- Introduction to Topology, Structure, and Usage with Examples
- Integration using CBOR and embedded OMAP to transmit Events and Data
- Proof of Concept (POC) findings
- Identity Requirements, Connection Process, Review Use of Channels in Messaging (Admin, Logging, Events)
- Object Save (OS) / Object Read (OR) Message, demonstration for linking between message and repo, demonstration for embedded OMAPs
For both courses, it is recommended to have a copy of SEMI E183 on hand.
