Updates to Cybersecurity Efforts
By Michelle Sun, SEMI, and Doug Suerich, PEER Group
Cybersecurity is quickly becoming a dominant topic in the semiconductor industry. In response to the ever increasing risk of cyberattacks on the entire supply chain, SEMI is holding the Global Cybersecurity Forum during SEMICON West 2023 to address the current industry-wide status on cybersecurity, as well as plans to collaborate to protect and secure our industry. Taking place on Wednesday, July 12th at the Moscone Center in San Francisco, California, the forum will feature speakers from across the semiconductor supply chain, including executives from Intel, TSMC, Applied Materials, ASML, Lam Research, and PEER Group. Anyone who is interested in learning more about this important topic is encouraged to attend.
In addition, SEMI Taiwan has recently released a Semiconductor Cybersecurity Risk Rating Service. Inspired by the cybersecurity framework of the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), the service covers common security practices to provide quantitative risk scores and peer comparison, as well as suggestions for mitigating each risk item.
