SEMICON JAPAN STANDARDS AWARDS

The SEMI International Standards Program is operated in all major electronics manufacturing regions including Americas, Europe, Japan, Korea, Taiwan, and China to increase the manufacturing efficiency and interoperability. Over 5,000 volunteers representing over 2,000 companies work in 21 global technical committees and over 200 task forces to find solutions to common technology challenges.
The award ceremony took place during SEMICON Japan 2023, the world's leading international exhibition for the microelectronics manufacturing supply chain, held at Tokyo Big Sight from December 13-15, 2023. The award was presented at the SEMI Standard Friendship Party and Awards Ceremony on Thursday, December 14 at SEMICON Japan 2023.
Following awards were given to individual members, who was recommended by the SEMI Standard Japan Regional Technical Committee Co-chairs.
SEMI Japan International Collaboration Award is presented to an individual or group that has overcome language and cultural barriers and made a significant contribution to coordinating international organizations and resolving major international issues.This year's award will be presented to Mr. Akira Ishii.
SEMI Japan International Collaboration Award: Mr. Akira Ishii, Daihen Corporation
As a member of the Japan RF Measurement Liaison Task Force under the Japan Metrics Technical Committee, Mr. Ishii has been involved in the improvement of SEMI Standards (SEMI E113, E114, E115, E136, E143) for radio frequency (RF) power supply for semiconductor manufacturing equipment. He has contributed to the improvement of the documents by actively participating in the Task Force meetings of the technical committees in Japan and North America, and by providing his expertise. In particular, he worked with Task Force leaders on the proposed revision of SEMI E113, improving the quality of the draft document and contributing to the discussion of international standards.
SEMI Japan Honor Award is presented to a member of the Japan Regional Standards Committee or an executive secretary of the Technical Committee who has been active in the establishment, abolition, or reorganization of committees, the establishment of many task forces, or as a member or executive secretary of a technical committee for many years. This year's award will be presented to Mr. Hiroshi Tomita.
SEMI Japan Honor Award: Mr. Hiroshi Tomita, Kioxia Corporation
Mr. Tomita has led the Japan Region Liquid Chemicals Technical Committee for many years as co-chair and has served on several Task Forces (Liquid Filter Task Force, Liquid-Borne Particle Counter Task Force, Trace Metal Analysis for High Pure IPA Task Force) and contributed to the development of several documents for these Task Force activities.
