New China GEM300 Task Force

During the SEMI Information & Control (I&C) China Technical Committee (TC) Chapter Spring Meeting in March 2022, the GEM300 Task Force (TF) was approved. The TF is comprised of device manufacturers and foundry members such as HLMC and Intel, major equipment OEMs such as NAURA, AMEC, BEST and SMEE, and Smart Manufacturing Solution providers such as Kxware, Cimetrix, AIE and Neucloud.

The GEM300 TF is chartered to maintain and improve the SEMI equipment automation software standards, such as SEMI E5, E30, E37, E39, E40, E87, E90, E94, E116, E157, E173, and ensure factory integration of these standards possible.

The I&C China TC Chapter aims to work closely with other regional task forces and has recently established discussions with the Japan GEM300 TF. The China GEM300 TF will also work closely with Backend Factory Integration TFs and Advanced Backend Factory Integration TFs on factory communication standards between the frontend and the backend of line.

With the globalized working principle, the China GEM300 TF will be an indispensable part of the SEMI I&C Global Technical Committee.

In summary, the main activity of the Task Force is to investigate various applications between equipment suppliers and fabs. TF meetings are ongoing and will continue to discuss focus areas as well as next steps.
