Equipment Edge Data Governance Task Force Update

Since establishment of the Equipment Edge Data Governance (EEDG) Task Force (TF) in April, more and more chip makers and equipment/subsystem vendors have joined. As of August, the TF consist of 34 members from 26 companies. In the last meeting, the TF summarized the major objectives of the EEDG TF from the chip makers side, which includes improvement of fab operation within the well-established guidelines of the EED governance, as well as to minimize impact on fab operation impact caused by failure of the equipment edge computing systems.

On the equipment/subsystem vendors side, the TF has summarized two key elements to enhance long-term customer relationship via a collaboration platform and rapid DX (digital transformation) with compliance to the EED governance.

According to TF Leader, KY Wang of Eunodata, the TF plans to propose new activities to high priority topics which include the following:

  • Data Inventory of Equipment Edge Data
  • Data Access Security of Equipment Edge Data
  • Data Categorization & Metadata Management of Equipment Edge Data, and
  • System Health of Equipment Edge Computing System/Equipment Edge Storage
