SEMI Standards Information & Control Technical Committee China Chapter Formation
By Isadora Jin, SEMI China
China cochair, Clare Liu from KXWARE presented the petition for formation of China TC Chapter of the Information & Control (I&C) Global Technical Committee during the SEMI North America Regional Standards Committee (NARSC) Business Meeting in September. NARSC members approved the petition after reviewing, discussing and voting.
Ms. Liu introduced semiconductor development and demand in China, initial members, Task Force Organization Form (TFOF) plan, and Standards New Activity Report Form (SNARF) plan. In China, there are more manufacturers that want to take advantage of smart manufacturing. There are more Cloud and big data companies in China entering the semiconductor industry to help enhance the manufacturing capability of the semiconductor industry. Interface of manufacturing tools is very vital during the manufacturing process, transferring commands and data meets the need of manufacturers in China.
The formation of the I&C China TC Chapter supports the involvement of China members in the SEMI Standards Program.
The initial members come from foundries, equipment suppliers, solution providers, like KXWARE, FA Software, Cimetrix, SIMIC, YMTC, JCET, Amkor, SILAN, Matrixtime, NAURA, AMEC, SMEE, PinWeiSmart, Schneider, Glorysoft, SEMITECH, etc.
A preparatory meeting was held in November. At this meeting, the members studied the SEMI Standards Regulations and performed a virtual meeting simulation. They also discussed and confirmed the agenda of first TC Chapter Meeting to be held in Shanghai in late December.
