Revisions to Regulations and Procedure Manual

The International Standards Committee, the governing body of the SEMI International Standards Program, recently approved revisions to the Regulations Governing SEMI Standards Program. Corresponding changes to the Procedure Manual have also been approved. 

As SEMI announced the completion of development of the necessary infrastructure for implementation of Official Virtual TC Chapter Meeting (OVTCCM) in early September, 2020, all TC Chapters are required to conduct simulation training prior to adoption of the OVTCCM. 

However, there are inactive TC Chapters that can be an obstacle for early implementation of the OVTCCM.  Given the COVID-19 pandemic, implementation of virtual meeting is critical for the Standards Program. The newly published Regulations (Section 6.5) and the Procedure Manual (Section 6.1.3.4.1) provides detailed procedures for disbandment of inactive TC Chapters. 

The updated versions of the Regulations and the Procedure Manual will be effective beginning by December 5, 2020.
