Inchfab is an ultra-low cost fabrication platform that aims to democratize the design and production of microelectronic devices. In today’s increasingly connected world, there is a growing demand for new micro- and nanoscale devices that fall outside conventional integrated circuit (IC) based electronics. These devices often require new materials and manufacturing processes that are not compatible with traditional, highly-standardized microfabrication avenues, thus creating a mismatch between demand and the current capabilities. Inchfab is a startup that spun out of Provost Schmidt’s lab at MIT to address this mismatch, which represents a multi-billion-dollar opportunity.
