Abstract of SEMI A1 PESCI
SEMI A1 PESCI provides the following functions that are essential for production line management.
- General-purpose intra-factory communications between:
- An upper tier host and local hosts
- An upper tier host and equipment
- A local host and equipment
- Equipment and equipment
- Simultaneous transfer of Material and Material Data between adjacent equipment along the production line. Normally, Material Data contains:
- Material ID
- Product ID
- Production logs

Definitions of actual Messages and Material Data are open for users, and normally, upper tier Standard defines them based on the industry requirements. (For example, SEMI A2 SMASH defines the messages and Panel Data for SMT assembly application.)
SEMI A1 PESCI uses only TCP/IP for higher interface flexibility and simple protocol for wider platform coverage including PLC. The interface specification is defined in the subordinate Standard SEMI A1.1.
