Tuomas Tikka is the Founder and CEO of Reaktor Space Lab, a company specializing in hyperspectral imaging nanosatellites and related data services. Tikka received a Master of Science (Tech.) in Space Technology degree from Aalto University in 2012 and continued working as a doctoral student building Finland’s first satellites until 2016. Reaktor Space Lab was formed in 2016 jointly with Reaktor, a Finnish technology and services consultancy company, to develop and commercialize nanosatellites for new space-based services. The company launched the world’s smallest hyperspectral satellite in 2018 and has been awarded multiple satellite development contracts from the European Space Agency and commercial customers. Recently, Tikka and the company have been concentrating on developing and launching a commercial hyperspectral nanosatellite fleet for global monitoring, to offer frequent high-resolution data and analytics products for the use of more sustainable industrial and agricultural practices.
