Dr. Armin Wellig was born in Switzerland in 1975. He received the MSc degree in Communication Systems from the Swiss Federal Institutes of Technology (EPFL), Switzerland, in 2000 and a PhD degree from the University of Kaiserslautern, Germany, in 2007.
He started his career in the Silicon Valley as a Wireless engineer with Morphics (now Infineon), before joining STMicroelectronics in 2002 where he held several R&D and management positions. In 2009, he co-founded a renewable energy startup (Greenercos, now Mersen) where he was leading the IoT system architecture and associated software development.
In 2012, he joined Honeywell where he most recently holds the position of Director Software engineering in Honeywell Building Technologies (HBT), where he is part of the HBT Advanced Technologies leadership team. He holds numerous patents in the domain of Wireless, IoT, and Sensing applications.
