Since last year’s adoption of the CHIPS and Science Act, aimed at bringing chip manufacturing back to the U.S. shores, global semiconductor companies have announced a plethora a new U.S. greenfield fab builds worth billions of dollars.

To help companies create their workforce development plans as part of the CHIPS Act funding application, we created the SEMI Foundation Workforce Development and DEI Menu of Services – packages of workforce development programs currently offered by the SEMI Foundation.

29 new fabs will break ground globally between now and 2022. But who will staff them? With 34,000 current vacancies in the semiconductors industry worldwide, companies large and small are already competing for the same talent pool.
