REVISIONS TO SEMI REGULATIONS AND PROCEDURE MANUAL

The International Standards Committee, the governing body of the SEMI International Standards Program, recently approved revisions to the Regulations Governing SEMI Standards Program. Corresponding changes to the Procedure Manual have also been approved.
Notable changes include:
- Bias-free terminology - provide alternative, bias-free terms or option to rewrite and eliminate sensitive terms in SEMI Standards. (Style Manual Table 4-7)
- New ballot procedures for Primary and Subordinate Standards.
- Procedures for revising existing Global Technical Committee charter and scope.
- Procedures a new Task Force Activity hosted temporarily by a Global Technical Committee.
- Ratification ballot improvement - clarification of the scope of Audit and Review process review to cover in authorizing, preparing, and conducting Ratification ballot.
The updated versions (November 2021) of the Regulations and the Procedure Manual will be effective at the Standards meetings during SEMICON West 2021.
