BIOGRAPHY

Randy King

Randal (Randy) King is Vice President of R&D/Technology for DuPont’s Electronics & Industrial business, a $5.9 billion technology leader, serving the semiconductor, circuit board, display, digital and flexographic printing, healthcare, aerospace, defense, industrial and transportation industries. In this role, Randy directs innovation strategy and worldwide research and development investment, and the execution and management of all technical resources. Randy’s organization partners with our customers every day to help solve their most complex and exciting challenges. 

Before being named to his current role in January 2023, Randy was Vice President of Technology for The Chemours Company for three years where he was the head of a group of advanced researchers, scientists, and engineers working on cutting-edge development and processes.  

Prior to that, Randy was with DuPont for more than 30 years where he made significant contributions in R&D, Applications Development, Product Stewardship, Engineering, Quality Leadership and Operations Support. He was the Global Engineering Sciences Leader for Electronic Technologies responsible for improvement engineering supporting manufacturing, quality assurance, leveraged analytical sciences, and applications engineering. Previously, as the Global Technology Director for DuPont Electronics & Communications, he was responsible for all technology associated with Electronic Materials, Photovoltaic and Advanced Materials, and Advanced Printing. The product portfolio under Randy’s direction included leading brands such as Tedlar®, Kapton®, Next Generation Solamet®, and Cyrel®. Randy led his teams to create a robust portfolio of innovative R&D and applications development growth programs.  

Randy also served as the Global Technology Director for DuPont Building Innovations where he was  

responsible for new technologies, which included R&D and Manufacturing Technical organizations associated with the Corian® and Tyvek® brands. While in this role, Randy led the development of Deep Color Corian®, as well as Tyvek® ThermaWrap R5. 

Randy has more than 20 years of research management experience creating and leading large, multidisciplinary product development project teams that create robust portfolios of innovative R&D and applications development growth programs. Born in Michigan, Randy received a B.S. in Chemistry from Eastern Michigan University and a Ph.D. in Analytical Chemistry from Michigan State University.
