Gordon Hirsch Wilson is the CEO and CoFounder of Rain Neuromorphics. Rain's mission is to enable a new roadmap of neuromorphic hardware that will ultimately enable efficient, brain-scale intelligence. Rain was founded four years ago in Gainesville, Florida, and is currently headquartered in San Francisco California.
At Rain, Gordon considers his core responsibility as CEO to be a storyteller - connecting the dots between the history of biological brains, the present context of digital processors, and the future opportunity of neuromorphic hardware. In addition to storytelling, Gordon considers himself to be a translator. At Rain, the engineering work integrates multiple disciplines that are typically siloed – device physics, circuit and systems architectures, and algorithms and software. Gordon’s work involves translating between these domains, and also up the ladder of abstraction from technical terms into value terms.
Before founding Rain, Gordon studied mathematics and statistics at the University of Florida, which is where he met his two co-founders. Before that, Gordon had a brief career in political campaign management and advocacy based in Central Florida. During that time, he worked on a congressional campaign, managed a state legislature campaign, and worked at Equality Florida, the state’s preeminent LGBT advocacy organization.
Gordon lives in the Castro district of San Francisco, where he enjoys weightlifting, swimming, and being an engaged member of his community.
