Duncan Meldrum, chief economist of Hilltop Economics LLC, specializes in business economics applications and forecasting for clients in the electronic materials, semiconductor equipment, and manufacturing industries. He provides the economic and semiconductor MSI forecasts and commentary for Linx Consulting Inc’s “Econometric Semiconductor Forecast” and the weekly “Covid-19 Tracker”. Before establishing Hilltop Economics, Meldrum was the director of the Center for Forecasting & Modeling at IHS Global Insight (now IHS Markit). He joined IHS after thirty years as the chief economist of Air Products and Chemicals, Inc.
Meldrum has a PhD in Business & Economics from Lehigh University, a MS in Operations Research from the US Naval Postgraduate School and a BS from the US Naval Academy. He sits on the board of the APCI Federal Credit Union. He holds the Certified Business Economist™ designation, and is a past president and Fellow of the National Association for Business Economics (NABE); other professional memberships include the National Business Economic Issues Council, the Conference of Business Economists, and the American Economic Association.
