Stuart SCHAAGPrior to founding E-Ward Trade Consulting, Stu enjoyed a 25-year career at the U.S. Department of Commerce’s International Trade Administration, formulating and implementing trade policy and assisting companies to achieve their export potential. Working overseas for two decades, Stu counseled companies across a spectrum of industries to identify opportunities, cultivate networks, and implement global strategies. As a diplomat in frontier and high-growth markets he advocated against trade barriers, leveraged U.S. government and industry resources to influence policy positions, and lead industry outreach to advance trade, customs, and standards issues. Stu’s experience includes over a decade in Asia. He served as the Commercial Counselor to Vietnam from 2014-2018 and resided in Hanoi until 2020. Stu earned his MBA at the Thunderbird School of International Management.
