A Letter from Chairman, SEMI Southeast Asia Regional Advisory Board
Dear friends,
It is certainly challenging for us all as individuals, family, employers, partners, suppliers, and community members during these extraordinary times. While we are focused on ensuring the health and safety of our workers, it is also crucial that we, in our collective effort, sustain the continuity of the systems and technologies that are vital to the semiconductor industry and the world.
The COVID-19 outbreak will certainly impact our industry. Therefore, I encourage you to focus on long-term strategic projects, maintain engagement with partners and prospects, and look to specific markets for stability. Emerging technologies like 5G, the Internet of Things, high-performance computing, automotive and intelligent edge will be fundamental to our overall recovery.
All of us at SEMI Southeast Asia believe that now more than ever, as an industry, we must stay connected, collaborate and engage, so we can move forward as one and emerge stronger together.
The entire SEMI SEA team is working tirelessly to develop and introduce innovative platforms for members to share information, keep updated on industry news and learn best practices.
To this end, I am excited to introduce our e-newsletter – one of our latest initiatives – which will be sent to all SEMI members on a bi- monthly basis starting 27th April, 2020. This will be a value-added platform where all SEMI members can contribute, as we work together to recover from the challenges we are facing.
I urge all of you to take advantage of this platform – share your content with us, showcase your technologies and forward a copy to your friends and peers. Reach out to us if you have interesting insights – our team is happy to hear from you.
Finally, Iet us stay connected with the rest of our industry and be in-the-know of other initiatives and activities organized by SEMI SEA. The semiconductor industry is of paramount importance as semiconductors stand at the heart of many breakthrough technologies being used to combat this pandemic.
I wish you, your family, and your employees good health.
Together,
KC Ang

Letter from President, SEMI Southeast Asia
Dear SEMI members and partners,
We are in the third month since businesses ramped up precautionary measures against the Covid-19 outbreak. With new developments emerging every day on outbreak, we recognize the greater urgency and need for us to stay connected and collaborate further.
As part of our efforts to keep the industry continuously plugged in, we are introducing SEMI SEA e-newsletter to reach out to our members and industry peers both regionally and internationally.
The last three months has been one of the longest for many corporations, business owners and members of the workforce, as we learn how to cope with supply chain disruption and a new normal of working from home.
The silicon industry is relentless – unceasingly intense. It pounds forward. The world we live in is driven by technology. As we battle through the COVID-19 crisis, take comfort the “silver lining behind the clouds”. We believe long term drivers and trends like 5G and AI will continue to fuel the demand for electronics growth.
With this e-newsletter, we bring to you the “BrightSparks” in our industry, business best practices in areas such as SMART Manufacturing Initiatives, recovery plans beyond COVID-19 and many more. In additional, it will provide an added platform for you to reach out to your customers and suppliers on your products and services.
Your health and safety continue to be our top priority. Collectively in unity, we can reduce the risk elements and come out of the pandemic in the best state possible.
Together,
Bee Bee NG
President, SEMI Southeast Asia
