BIOGRAPHY
Bo Machayo has extensive experience as a public policy and public engagement professional advisor to stakeholders and elected officials at the local, state, and federal government levels. He is currently the Head of U.S. Government and Public Affairs for Micron Technology. In his role, he leads Micron's team that engages with local, state, and federal governments globally to achieve the company's $140 billion global expansion efforts. He has worked and shaped various domestic and foreign policy issues, particularly concerning the economy, workforce development, climate and Africa. He has successfully passed legislation, formed coalitions, and accomplished organizational goals throughout his career, including as a political appointee at the White House during the Obama Administration.
A robust academic foundation underpins Bo Machayo's professional journey. He has served in various capacities, including for U.S. Senator Mark Warner, the Loudoun County government, the U.S. African Development Foundation, the Obama White House Council on Environmental Quality, the Department of Homeland Security, and U.S. Senator Kirsten Gillibrand's office. Bo's academic credentials include degrees in Economics and International Affairs from Wake Forest University and a Master's in Public Administration with Honors Distinction from George Mason University. His unique background as a first-generation Ugandan-Kenyan-American has inspired him to give back to his community through a nonprofit he co-founded: The Leading Ladies Initiative Inc.
