Schubert Chu is appointed vice president, leading Epitaxy and 300mm Specialty Products for Applied Materials.
Under Schubert’s leadership, Applied Materials’ Epi product line has reached record revenues, securing positions at all customers transitioning to FinFET and 3DNAND architectures. With a growing number of Epi steps being added in Logic/Foundry, NAND, DRAM, and More-than-Moore (MtM) devices, the Epi product portfolio is set to grow dramatically in the coming years. Additionally, Schubert recently took on leadership responsibility to drive new opportunities across all Applied’s 300mm product offerings in specialty markets, including IoT, Communications, Automotive, Power and Sensors.
Schubert holds a PhD in mechanical engineering from the University of California, Berkeley and has held various positions within the Metal Deposition, Atomic Layer Deposition and Front End Products business units since joining Applied in 1999.
