Rashid Mavliev, Ipgrip

Rashid Mavliev, PhD currently is CTO of Ipgrip Inc- the start-up company developing new technology - Selectroplating®, a patented technology for selective electrochemical plating of inlaid conductive features on any size wafer, substrate or panel. Targeted applications include power semiconductor device manufacturing, advanced chip packaging (RDL,TSV), and advanced solar cell manufacturing. Technical feasibility of Selectroplating® has already been demonstrated for Cu multilevel metallization in an alliance with IBM Microelectronics and Fraunhofer ENAS.

Dr. Mavliev has previously developed and commercialized metrology instruments for measuring oversized particles in optically dense nanoscale substances such as polishing slurries, emulsions, and inks. This technology was spun off through Vantage Technology Corporation and now has several hundred units in the field.

Prior to this Dr. Mavliev was developing new technologies and equipment for Chemical Mechanical Planarization in Applied Materials.

Dr. Rashid Mavliev has extensive experience in scientific research, in inventing and developing of new technology, materials and equipment for semiconductor and nano-technology industries. He has more than 40 publications and 40 US patents.

Prior to work in semiconductor equipment industry Dr. Mavliev was working in basic and applied research of nanoparticle formation and characterization with Lawrence Berkeley National Lab, Illinois Institute of Technology and Russian Academy of Sciences. Major part of his work was concentrated in developing of unique methods of nanoparticle detection and characterization.

Rashid holds PhD in Chemical Physics from Russian Academy of Sciences.
