KISSIMMEE, Fla. (October 24, 2019) – BRIDG, a not-for-profit industry-led public-private partnership for advanced sensors, semiconductors, and other advanced nanoscale systems based at NeoCity, is pleased to announce the recent addition of Brian Sapp as the senior director of technical performance and partnerships.

As a member of the BRIDG executive leadership team who reports directly to the CEO, Sapp will drive BRIDG’s competitive advantage to new levels by growing and executing the company’s Advanced System Integration activities and other strategic programs. His efforts will ensure BRIDG remains positioned to successfully deliver innovative solutions to key customers.

“As interest in our heterogeneous integration capabilities continues to grow, Brian’s focus on this segment will help pave the way for our long-term success and sustainability,” said Chester Kennedy, BRIDG CEO.

Driven by a fierce passion for microelectronics and for Florida, Sapp will leverage his experience and technical expertise to accelerate the adoption of emerging technologies across Central Florida and the entire state with impact globally.

“The human impact of the work at BRIDG will be tremendous, leading to solutions for a smarter, more connected world and revolutionary advances for industry, government, and academia,” Sapp said. “BRIDG’s mission is unique and fulfilling and motivates me to tackle the toughest technical challenges for our partners.”

A recognized leader in technology and innovation, Sapp was most recently an assistant vice president at The Research Foundation for the State University of New York (SUNY), a private not-for-profit educational corporation that provides grants and contract support for SUNY campuses including SUNY Polytechnic Institute.

With a focus on high-value economic development initiatives and collaborative technology development, Sapp played a key role in shaping the recently announced partnership between the State of New York and Cree, Inc. to establish a power electronics corridor on the East Coast through the creation of the world’s largest silicon carbide fabrication facility.

Before joining SUNY Poly, Sapp was a member of the executive team at SEMATECH. As the director of device integration for all research, development, and manufacturing programs, Sapp worked to promote innovation, excellence, and sustainability throughout the organization. Prior to SEMATECH, he was responsible for Back-End-Of-Line (BEOL) technology development efforts and customer engagements at IBM Corporation.

“Brian has a long list of professional accomplishments to his name and has built a great reputation for turning ideas into real value for his team and his customers. I am proud to welcome Brian back to his home state as we work together to turn BRIDG and NeoCity into a global center for the fourth industrial revolution,” said Kennedy.
