BIOGRAPHY

J. Fernando Alfaro, Manager R&D Product Development Engineer in Fremont & Milpitas, Northern California, USA, is a highly experienced MEMS Designer, with extensive knowledge of pressure sensing, microfabrication, simulation tools, and testing. Trained as a Roboticist, he has a unique +20 year background in MicroElectroMechanical Systems, Electronics Systems and Computer Science, which provides his company and customers with unique advantages.
Fernando has been with TE Connectivity for over 10 years and since that time has distinguished himself as a creative and excellence driven MEMS design engineer. Before joining TE, Fernando was a Researcher at the Institute for Complex Engineered Systems (ICES) in Pittsburgh, PA. He was also a Professor of Electrical Engineering at the Monterrey Institute of Technology in Mexico for 2 years. He earned his PhD in Robotics at Carnegie Mellon University working on “A Multi Axial Bio Implantable MEMS Array Bone Stress Sensor”, under Dr. Gary Fedder. He received his MS in Robotics at CMU working on “Micro Media Actuation for Probe-Based Mass Data Storage”.
