BIOGRAPHY

Doruk leads the Motion Sensors Team at Meta, a multidisciplinary team of engineers and researchers, responsible for the end-to-end technology roadmap of motion sensors for all Meta AR/VR and wearable products. His team has played a key role in launching some of the world’s leading VR products with state-of-the-art localization & tracking capabilities, such as Quest 2 and Quest Pro.
Before joining Meta, he was a MEMS designer at TDK Invensense where he led the design of next-gen 3-axis MEMS gyroscope for TDK Invensense’s flagship 6-axis IMU. Doruk received his Ph.D. degree (2015) in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering from University of California, Irvine, received his M.S. degree (2009) in Mechanical Engineering from Washington State University and his B.S. degree (2007) in Mechanical Engineering from Middle East Technical University. His research interests, represented in over 20 international conference papers, 9 peer-reviewed journal papers, and 16+ patents, encompass all aspects of MEMS sensor development, including sensor design, device fabrication, algorithms, and control.
