BIOGRAPHY
Isabel de Sousa has a B.Ing in Physics and M.Sc.A in metallurgy from Ecole Polytechnique of Montreal. She has worked with IBM for over 30 years, currently senior advisory engineer for hardware development She piloted major projects such as process automation for solder grid arrays, steered the transition to lead free alloys along with leading numerous problem solving and process optimization task forces. Also versed at conducting business development mandates in advanced packaging with a focus on strategic growth in line with customer needs. Over the years she has contributed to several papers on the topic of microelectronics assembly and holds 10 patents. She now coordinates IBM Research group’s innovative ideas to product manufacturing at IBM’s manufacturing site in Bromont, Québec, Canada.
