New 9-axis Solution for GPS Denied Applications
ABSTRACT
Today, many consumer electronics provide tracking solutions to navigate to a destination or measure small movements as it is done in mobile phones, wearables, and AR/VR. One of the most common use cases for navigation in electronics are performed by mobile phones. These devices help us get from A to B when driving or walking outdoors. However, navigation accuracy gets more challenging when indoors or in GPS denied areas. TDK Invensense is helping this decade old issue by creating a new tunnel magneto-resistance (TMR) sensing plus IMU technology that allows “always on” calibration, and drift optimization to significantly improve the accurate PDR solutions that support real life use-cases where the device does not align with the person’s body.
