BIOGRAPHY

April Fisher joined the Indiana Economic Development Corporation in March of 2023. Fisher is responsible for management of key Indiana foreign-based offices to ensure strategy and execution aligns with IEDC economic development goals.
Fisher comes to the IEDC with a wealth of experience helping Indiana communities grow and thrive. She spent over a decade at the Marion County Prosecutor’s Office, with the majority of her time there as a community prosecutor working directly with communities on crime prevention and quality of life issues. After leaving Marion County, she spent five years as the Town Manager for Cumberland, Indiana. During this time, she helped guide the town through several major transitions, including negotiating the sale of two utilities, more than doubling the reserve fund balance, and expanding the town’s parks and events programs. From 2021 to 2022, Fisher served as the Vice President of Legal and Analytics for NineStar Connect, a rural utility cooperative providing electric, telecommunications, water, and wastewater. Through this role, she served as in-house counsel, led initiatives in economic and community development, oversaw efforts to develop a data analytics program, and successfully secured several million dollars in funding for new infrastructure.
Fisher holds a bachelor’s degree in political science and communications studies from Butler University, as well as a law degree from Indiana University School of Law. She is a lifelong Central Indiana resident and currently lives in Indianapolis with her husband and two children.
