The Rising Challenges of Materials Supply for Semiconductors
ABSTRACT
The semiconductor market is poised for deeper integration into the world economy, becoming a ubiquitous technology in the lives of humanity. The strategic nature of this technology is changing, and the dynamic at the leading edge is being influenced by politics, economy, labor, and the climate.
The “stuff” we use to make semiconductor devices draws from a global supply chain which has its own challenges, while meeting the toughest quality controls on the planet, and delivering stringent supply reliability.
This presentation will look at the needs and opportunities for materials and consumable suppliers to meet the expectations of their customer base. New science, regional challenges, logistics, and the limits of technology all add to the complexity of bringing the right product to the right customer.
