Semiconductor Market Outlook:  AI Supercycle

ABSTRACT

AI, compute, and memory have fueled a strong market recovery, but the growth in other industries like automotive and industrial has remained elusive.  As we look forward, IDC expects the semiconductor industry will continue to support consecutive years of double-digit growth as we continue to build on the expansion and reach of compute and AI, and we enable a long-awaited adoption of intelligent devices and AI enabled PC’s and smartphones. Each of these industries are poised to drive an inflection point in the scale of market revenues and rapid CAGR growth that we have not seen since the 1990's.

What’s the outlook for AI as inferencing moves from the cloud to the edge and enterprises and the public sector begin to invest in their own infrastructure and AI models?  Can the incumbent suppliers and AI platforms maintain their stronghold on the market as volumes shift to intelligent endpoints? Enteprises and consumers will drive more data creation and AI inferencing using optimized silicon and battery power?  Who are the next emerging suppliers to step up and what are the key inflection points of the market as billions of intelligent devices double in volumes and drive the next wave of data used for AI inferencing?

Please join Mr. Morales as he shares IDC's perspective on the semiconductor market and provides some key insights on the key global companies driving and shaping the growth and competitive landscape including NVIDIA, Qualcomm, TSMC, Intel, AMD, Broadcom, Apple, NXP, Samsung, Micron, SK Hynix, HiSilicon, SMIC, MediaTek, and others.
