Dr. Yang is a veteran semiconductor industry executive. Prior to taking over as CEO of YMTC, he was CEO at XMC. His previous roles include COO at SMIC, CTO and Senior Vice President of Operations at Chartered Semiconductor (now Global Foundries) and R&D and Manufacturing Director at Intel. Simon received multiple Achievement Awards when he was in Intel. Simon received his PhD in Materials Engineering at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) and holds more than 20 patents and published over 30 articles.
