
BIOGRAPHY
Israel Hernandez is a senior government affairs and trade executive with more than two decades of experience at the intersection of technology, investment, and public policy. He serves as Head of Government and Regulatory Affairs at KIOXIA. Hernandez previously served as a Senate-confirmed Assistant Secretary of Commerce for International Trade, as Acting Under Secretary of the International Trade Administration and earlier served at the White House as Deputy Assistant to President George W. Bush. He worked on two U.S. presidential campaigns, where he helped develop and execute data-driven microtargeting strategies to identify and communicate with key voter constituencies. In the private sector, Hernandez held senior leadership roles at SoftBank Group International, TPG Capital, Facebook (Meta), and Afero, advising companies and investors on cross-border transactions, CFIUS, emerging technologies, regulatory policy, and geopolitical risk. Hernandez holds an MPA from Texas A&M University and a BA in Philosophy and Political Science from the University of Texas at Austin, where he was named a Distinguished Young Alumnus. Hernandez also recently completed a postgraduate program in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning at the University of Texas at Austin.
