Profile Summary
Dr. Hyun-Woo Kim serves as the head of the Technology Planning Team at Samsung Electronics' Semiconductor R&D Center. He oversees planning and supporting the future of semiconductor research within the organization.
Dr. Kim has been instrumental in advancing semiconductor technology at Samsung Electronics since joining the company in 1997. Since 1997, he has played a pivotal role in developing photolithography processes for semiconductors, particularly in ArF and Immersion ArF technologies. As the team leader for material development within the Semiconductor R&D Center, starting from 2014, he successfully developed critical materials for next-generation semiconductor manufacturing.
Throughout his career, Dr. Kim has received several accolades recognizing his contributions. In 2002, he received the "Proud Samsung Awards" for his contributions in developing photoresist materials compatible with Extreme Ultraviolet Lithography and precursor materials used in deposition and etching processes, collaborating with both domestic and international material suppliers to achieve commercialization.
And in 2020, he was awarded the "Order of Industrial Service Merit, Tin Tower" by the South Korean Ministry of Trade, Industry, and Energy for his significant contributions to advancing Korea's semiconductor material industry.
With a strong background spanning both research and industrial application, Dr. Kim continues to drive innovation in semiconductor technologies at Samsung Electronics.
