Where's the Funnel?


ABSTRACT

As advanced manufacturers and semiconductors ramp up to support growth in the sector, lack of talent is one of the biggest concerns. Where is the pipeline and who are the key players that can make a difference in this endeavor? Ed Latson will talk about what Central Texas is doing in collaboration with the workforce boards, community college, and community based organizations to help grow local talent. 

BIOGRAPHY

Ed Latson, ARMA-AustinEd Latson is the founder and Executive Director for ARMA—the Austin Regional Manufacturers Association, a trade association focused on strengthening the manufacturing community through advocacy, workforce development, and networking. Members include some of the largest employers in the area like Samsung Semiconductor, Applied Materials, NXP, ICU Medical, and National Instruments, but also small and medium size companies from diverse sectors, like food & beverage, bio/pharma, automotive, printing, and metal fabrication. 

Latson is active in the community serving on boards or advisory groups for the Capital Area Economic Development District, GSG Talent Solutions, Austin Community College, AISD, PfISD and UT School of Engineering. He is a native Austinite and a UT Graduate.
