Creating the Digital Twin for Semiconductor Design to Manufacturing

ABSTRACT

The semiconductor industry led the way with creating digital twins of design but have been far behind other industries on the digitalization of manufacturing.  Current practices of ramping and optimizing production are becoming less feasible from a cost and time standpoint.  MEMS & Sensors add an extra level of complexity to the digitalization challenge, but their adjacencies to other design domains also help show us a path to tackling the issues associated with growing complexity.  Leveraging knowledge from other industries, and incorporating the latest developments in AI and ML, it is possible to build an entire digital twin of design to manufacturing allowing for virtual process and production modeling, reducing cost and time to market.
