BIOGRAPHY

Dr. Latif Ahmed is a Senior Microcontamination Engineer at Intel Corporation and a key contributor to the successful startup and qualification of six semiconductor technology nodes in Intel's Arizona manufacturing operations. He leads strategic Microcontamination planning and risk mitigation efforts for both current and future high-volume manufacturing (HVM) projects, ensuring facility readiness and successful fab certification. His expertise spans Airborne Molecular Contamination (AMC) control, vibration management, copper contamination control, and cleanroom qualifications. Throughout his career at Intel, Dr. Ahmed has developed and implemented innovative contamination-control strategies and technical guidelines for the evaluation and selection of cleanroom materials, systems, and components critical to advanced semiconductor manufacturing.
Prior to joining Intel, Dr. Ahmed served as Technical Support Manager at ChemTrace Corporation and as a Research Scientist at Balazs Analytical Laboratory. He has co-authored numerous technical procedures, industry standards, and research publications in the field of Microcontamination control. His contributions include protocols for selecting wet bench materials of construction, incorporated into the Factory Mutual Research Corporation FM 4910 standard under a SEMATECH-sponsored initiative; methodologies for the characterization of spin-on-glass (SOG) materials; standardization approaches for raw material qualification; and studies investigating organophosphate contamination of silicon wafers and organic desorption mechanisms from wafer surfaces.
Dr. Ahmed earned his Ph.D. in Chemistry from the University of Illinois Chicago. His doctoral research focused on the synthesis and characterization of advanced inorganic compounds, including Hexamethyl Tellurium(VI) and Diboron Tetrabromide, pioneering work that contributed to the broader understanding of organometallic and boron chemistry.
