BIOGRAPHY

Kris Chupka is an accomplished analytical chemist and research and development leader with more than 25 years of experience advancing scientific innovation, laboratory operations, and quality systems across the specialty gas, analytical testing, nutritional supplement, advanced materials, and biotechnology industries. He currently serves as Director of R&D, Gas Analysis for Nippon Sanso Matheson, where he leads research initiatives and analytical capabilities focused on gas analysis technologies.
Throughout his career, Kris has built a reputation for combining deep technical expertise with strategic leadership. His experience spans analytical chemistry, mass spectrometry, trace elemental analysis, method development and validation, laboratory accreditation, and quality management systems. He has successfully led multidisciplinary teams, managed complex laboratory operations, and developed analytical programs that support product development, manufacturing, regulatory compliance, and customer quality requirements.
Prior to joining Nippon Sanso Matheson, Kris served as Laboratory Operations Manager at Ellipse Analytics, where he oversaw laboratory performance and quality systems within an ISO 17025-accredited environment. Before that, he spent more than four years at Balchem Corporation as Senior Manager of Corporate Quality Laboratories, leading quality laboratory operations that supported nutritional supplement manufacturing, food safety programs, audit readiness, customer complaint investigations, and analytical method development. Over the past two decades, Kris has advanced through positions of increasing responsibility across quality, analytical, and laboratory operations functions, progressing from Analytical Chemist to Director.
Kris holds both Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees in Chemistry from the South Dakota School of Mines and Technology. His technical expertise includes ICP-MS, high-resolution mass spectrometry, GC/MS, analytical method development, quality control, laboratory accreditation, and scientific team leadership.
