Semiconductor Raw Material Localization and Quality Challenges

BIOGRAPHY 

Mike Tseng

Dr. Tseng is the head of the Incoming Material Quality and Reliability Department at TSMC Arizona, where he oversees and enhances raw material quality to support advanced semiconductor manufacturing. Having joined TSMC Arizona, he has firsthand experience with the challenges of ramping up operations. Dr. Tseng possesses extensive expertise in semiconductor raw material quality requirements, critical for advancing to next-generation nodes in semiconductor manufacturing.

With professional experience spanning Taiwan, Germany, and the U.S., Dr. Tseng brings a global perspective to his role. Recognizing the vital importance of raw material quality in enabling advanced nodes for 5nm technology and beyond, he leads his team to uphold the highest quality standards while working to build a sustainable, locally integrated supply chain ecosystem in the U.S.

Dr. Tseng earned his PhD in Physics from National Chiao Tung University (Taiwan) and completed postdoctoral research at the University of California, Santa Barbara.
