He spent 2 years at IBM’s, T.J. Watson Research Center in Yorktown Heights, NY and 1 year at Tohoku University, Sendai, Japan working for the consortium of private and university researches under Professor Ohmi.
Victor Chia, International Expert; Director, Surface Contamination Technologies, Air Liquide / Balazs NanoAnalysis
Dr. Victor Chia is an Air Liquide International Expert and the Director at Balazs NanoAnalysis for Surface Contamination Technologies. Victor received his Ph.D. in Analytical Chemistry from the University of California, Santa Barbara, M.Sc. degrees from University of London, Chelsea College and UCSB and was a Post-Doctoral Fellow at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory. He is on the IEST editorial review board and past chair and co-author of the IEST WG-CC031 recommended practice for organic outgassing in materials. Dr. Chia has published over 45 papers and authored chapters on SIMS and contamination characterization. Victor has presented several UC Berkeley Extension and ESTECH Contamination courses.
Max van den Berg, System Architect, Electronics and Assembly, Global Application Engineering, Festo
Max has a Master of Science degree in Mechatronics and Engineering Product Design. He started his career in 1987 by starting his own engineering firm. After selling his share in the company, he started to work for ASM International as System Engineer and later as Principal engineer. In the recession year 2010 he made the switch to Festo where he is now working in the Global Industry Unit for Electronics and Light Assembly as a Senior System Architect. He is active in the field of Semiconductor equipment applications, working closely together with the architects from the customers. He is also a member of the SEMI SCIS group that is aiming to reduce contamination in Gas Delivery Systems by investigating contaminating elements in the components that are used in these systems (like valves).
