BIOGRAPHY

Qi Gao, Mitsubishi Chemical Corporation

Dr. Qi Gao holds a Ph.D. is a Senior Chief Scientist  at Mitsubishi Chemical Corporation.  He is a researcher at IBM Q Network Hub,  a consortium that brings quantum computing resources academia and industry, facilitating access to IBM's latest quantum processors and opening new research lines in fundamental and applied quantum computing  at Keio University.  His efforts there are focused on developing cutting-edge quantum methods, including quantum chemistry, quantum AI, and optimization, to drive revolutionary advancements in computational chemistry and materials science. His previous work encompassed simulations of ionic liquids, liquid electrolytes, organic light-emitting diode materials, and polymers. Dr. Gao received doctorate in Biological Resources and Informatics from the Tokyo Institute of Technology, Japan. His doctoral research focused on developing an FMO (Fragment Molecular Orbital)-based ab initio method, enabling accurate and efficient prediction of chemical shifts in large biomolecular systems using supercomputing resources.
