BIOGRAPHY

Kamran Akhtar, Samsung SemiconductorDr. Kamran Akhtar is a Senior Director of Process Development at Samsung Semiconductor Inc., where he leads a cross-functional team establishing process technology for futuristic DRAM - including Planar DRAM and Vertical DRAM architectures. Prior to Samsung, he spent 13 years at Micron Technology leading global teams across the US, Singapore, Taiwan, and Japan developing Micron's advanced DRAM, HBM, and NAND technologies and enabling high-volume manufacturing. His earlier career includes plasma research at Blacklight Power and the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

Dr. Akhtar holds more than 25 awarded patents and has authored more than 95 scientific publications, including two book chapters on plasma processing and high-pressure plasmas. He earned his Ph.D. in Plasma Physics from the Indian Institute of Technology, New Delhi, and was a postdoctoral fellow at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
